Profile
Having read notarial law at Leyden University, this born and bred Amsterdam resident could not wait to hoof it back to Amsterdam and immerse himself in the notarial practice, where he was duly appointed as a civil-law notary in 1992.
A firm believer of the principle that civil law notaries are to the legal profession what general practitioners represent medically, Maarten R. Meijer practices the traditional disciplines of Real Estate Law, Private Family law and Corporate Law.
Serves a range of boards both within and outside the notarial profession, of which his position as Member of the General Council of the Union Internationale du Notariat deserves a special mention as this has brought him into contact with notarial solicitors all over the civil law world.
About Meijer & Hagendijk
The notarial firm of Mr M.J. Meijer c.s., notarissen carries on a general practice comprising the following three client-oriented sectors: Corporate Law, Real Estate and Private & Family Law. Since 1909 Mr M.J. Meijer c.s., notarissen has been operating from its three adjoining period premises on Keizersgracht (the Emperor’s Canal) in central Amsterdam where they house a most dynamic practice with state-of-the-art automation. The relatively modest size of our notarial practice, which as one of only a handful in Amsterdam is not associated with a general solicitor’s practice, puts us in the best possible position to operate decisively both nationally and internationally.
